Personalised surveys
In order to get to know students on a personal level I design surveys which I give out to students at the beginning of a lesson. The questions in the surveys are purposely designed not only to bring about curiosity in students but to also give me a more in-depth insight into students’ life including their likes, dislikes and values. I also make it optional for students to write questions about me if they wish. I take notes about my students' likes and dislikes, I answer their posed questions and I make few comments next to students' responses. In this way students begin to realise that I am genuinely interested in their lives and that I want to relate to them as a human.

1 on 1 Discussions
About: I planned for each day to have a one-on-one chat with two students so that by the end of my 15-day placement I would have talked to all of the students in order to foster our ongoing rapport. In the future I am going to use notes to keep myself reminded of this in order to achieve this goal.
